Dazek bowed deeply before the matriarch of the family. It was unusual for a male so young to have a opportunity to address the head of the family.

"Matriarch Jesinilin I present to you my finding on the humanoid race we call Ch’inik or as humans call Kobolds"

"I have studied them for the last seven years Matriarch."

She smiled, "Seven years is not that long, and you think these diminutive lizards pose a threat to Humans?"

"Yes my matriarch, with perhaps the proper guidance from us they could be a very dangerous threat to the humans, it is in the tome I have prepared for you."

She ran her hand across the black tome. She was obviously thinking, Dazek tried to tell if she thought he was be arrogant or if she was taking him seriously. Her face as always was very neutral.

"Dazek I will assign one of the priestess to assist you, until further notice proceed with a plan to guide the Ch’inik."

He bowed deeply then exited the room. He would be assigned a priestess to watch over him. He now was in the cooker. At his young age he would not be allowed a mistake. He hoped these Kobolds were as easy to teach as they seemed.

Kobolds are in almost every game world. They are thought of as sword fodder for many young adventurers. They are however a lot more complicated than that. Kobolds can be seen as being in a infancy. They have a great potential that is usually left untapped. This is when you see inexperienced adventurers cleaning up a whole tribe like they were killing rabbits.

Once in a while though a tribe seems to realize its potential. You here about these every once in a while. A experienced party of long time dungeon delvers come back mauled and missing a couple of members. When asked what happened, they tend to mutter really low so no one hears them "kobold ambush". These are the rare tribes that realize and develop their potential.

How many of these tribes are there? Not many... yet. Once other tribes begin to see that there is a successful tribe they will quickly begin to adapt. Then they will no longer be sword fodder. Then they may begin to be a real threat to all races.
